Crafting Waste – Workshop by Martina Turini – Gerrit Rietveld Academie Jewellery-Linking Bodies

An Alchemy workshop. Throughout a few sessions the students engaged in the process of recovering silver from fixer solution. The fixer was collected from the waste of the photography departments dark rooms.

The aim of the workshop was to raise awareness about the production processes that lead to the generation of “precious” waste, as well as the processes that generates its afterlife.
